Day 345-Beer 345 Toasted Coconut Porter, Thomas Creek Brewery, Greenville South Carolina

Tonight's brew is listed as an American Porter. This one uses, according to the label toasted coconut to enhance the flavour. It poured a dark chocolate, almost black colour with almost no head and no lacing although it did leave a sticky film on the sides of the glass as you drank the brew. The aroma unlike the label seemed absent of coconut but rather had a coffee and sweet toasted caramel malt smell. The flavour had a definited essprsesso background with hints of toased and burnt malts and some bitter chocolate and nuts, 3.3 out of 5
