Day 356-Beer 356 Le Freak Ale, Green Flash Brewing Co. San Diego California

A great day today, weather in the high 70's , golf in the 80's, overall 62 with my handicap, My daughter arrived in Florida for the holidays and some good rummio games with the neighbors, and now the countdown is 10. Le Freak is a combination of two styles, Belgian Trippel and American IPA hence the category Belgian IPA. At 9.2% ABV it is a strong beer and it comes in a one pint 6 oz. bottle. It poured an amber colour with tons of frothy off white head that seem to last forever and stuck to the sides of the glass. The aroma was more Belgian than APA, banana, bready yeast cloves with a hint of citrus and pine resin. The flavour was sweet, banana, bread yeast, coriander, citrus, grapefruit and orange with some peppery spices, coriander and a heavy metallic background from the high alcohol content. It finishes with a bitter yet sweet taste in your mouth. Overall a very interesting brew 3.5 out of 5. .....NINE MORE BOTTLES OF BEER ON THE WALL.....
