Day 228-Beer 228 Berger Cookies Chocolate Stout, Full Tilt Brewing, Baltimore, Maryland

Tonight's brew is a Milk/Sweet Stout. Milk / Sweet Stouts are basically stouts that have a larger amount of residual and unfermented sugars that give the brew more body and a sweetness. Other brews of this type are Left Hand Milk Stout, Left Hand Brewing, Crème Brulee, Southern Tier Brewing(beer 187) and Young's Double Chocolate Stout, Wells and Young Ltd (beer 99).
It pours a dark chocolate, almost black colour with some tan coloured head that leaves a little lacings around the edge of the glass. The aroma has hints of dark chocolate, toasted malts, espresso and vanilla. The taste is roasted malt up front with hints of dark chocolate, vanilla and just a hint of hops. Overall a very good stout with a nice creamy feel and it might make a great replacement of water in my next batch of cookies. 3.7 out of 5.
